KENNETH'S CONSULTING APPROACH

Translating Sustainability into Practice

The MIND model is Kenneth’s process-based value-chain approach to translating  sustainability into practice, summarised in the following non-linear steps:

  • Map the activities of the value chain

  • Identify the positive and negative impacts of these activities, and their implications on the sustainability vision

  • Negotiate these impacts with both external and internal stakeholders, and

  • Develop appropriate interventions.

The MIND Model was listed in ISAR Honours 2021.

Over 40 nominations were received, representing best practices from 23 countries. The Honours acknowledge Kenneth's contribution towards achieving SDG 12.6 and facilitating the dissemination of best practices in sustainability and SDG reporting

The model is integral to the value chain approach to embedding sustainability culture in an organisation, and helps make the process less complex and easier to put into practice.

The MIND model is complemented by the 5S Approach, also developed by Kenneth.

Kenneth uses the MIND model to support many organisations.

REVIEWS

"Professor Amaeshi's work on CSR and Africapitalism, in particular, has highlighted the critical role of institutional arrangements in embedding sustainability. In addition, Amaeshi points to leaders within regulatory bodies as ‘institutional entrepreneurs’, actively embedding long-term structural change. This was an important insight and one that has shaped our thinking.

We recognise him as an influencer."
